Winter Rendezvous

Winter Rendezvous is the coldest, yet one of the most fun, campouts of the whole year. Scouts spend the weeks leading up to the campout discussing and preparing for cold-weather camping. This year Troop 148 joined 300 other scouts and scouters at Maumee Scout Reservation to brave the chilly weather to compete in the Klondike Race, visit the range to shoot .22 rifles, 20-gauge shotguns, and archery. The boys cooked up a delicious ‘Winter Vegetable’ Soup for the cooking competition and visited the Cozy Cabin for some storytelling. They hunkered down on Saturday night and stayed warm despite the overnight low temperature of 9 degrees - they certainly earned their Polar Bear Patches this year!
